Bertie and the Ghost
annoying
It was Halloween, and Bertie’s annoying little brother dared him to sleep in the North Tower of the Palace – which everyone knows is haunted.
fortunately
But fortunately the ghost turned out to be not the scary sort, more the nuisance type of ghost.
tadpole
Tim the tadpole was feeling just a bit frightened about the whole idea of Halloween.
frightened
That would help him forget about how frightened he really was.
Except
Except for my pesky brother Harry of course…. And the royal nanny.
Good. By the way, I recommend that you use and English-English dictionary. In regard to the word "annoy," for example, Longman says "to make someone feel slightly angry and unhappy about something" and "annoying" is "making you feel slightly angry." That's different from the Japanese you wrote.
Thank you for comment. I discriminated between annoy and annoying.
